Download Manager Tweak Extension

andman's Miscellaneous Extensions

Here are a couple of extensions that I made in my spare time. In the past, when I wanted to add minor features to Firefox for my personal use, I often whipped up some quick and dirty extension to do it. I have decided to post some of my extensions in case someone, somewhere could use them. Here are a couple of the more useful ones. These extensions were never intended for use by anyone else, so they may be a bit buggy--just a heads up. Hope you like them.

An extra note: I do not plan on keeping these extensions up to date or adding new features, so bug reports and feature requests may fall on deaf ears.

Smart Middle Click

Latest Version

Description

By default, middle clicking on javascript links in Firefox opens a blank tab instead of following the link. This extension fixes that problem and lets middle clicks open simple javascript links in new tabs. It is not very sophisticated, so some javascript links may not work, but most will. Why this simple functionality is not built into Firefox by default, I don’t know.

Thanks to Torisugari and MonkeeSage from the Mozillazine forums for help and code snippets.

Firefox eReader

Latest Version

Description

I wanted an easy way to read eBooks from Project Gutenberg, so I made this extension. The eReader lets you easily scale the text size and adjust the reading width for comfortable viewing. It also has a primitive bookmark feature that remembers your place. Any site can be viewed inside the eReader, so it may be useful for things besides eBooks, like news sites. To toggle the eReader on and off, you can click the eReader toolbar button, select ‘eReader’ from the View menu, or press F12.
